Genius Week 2017: My Personal Experience
I started to draw pictures about two years ago. At that
time, I used to study in grade seven. From my childhood, I was interested in
drawing arts and pictures. There is a saying, “Where there is a will, there is
a way.” This saying completely matches my interest towards arts. My
dedications and interest in arts have provided and are still providing me with different
opportunities to showcase and explore my skills.
At first, I participated in a drawing competition that was
organized by J.C.I. where I succeeded in securing first position. I am highly
motivated by that achievement. After that competition, I participated in other
different drawing and art competitions and I also tried to not to let go every
single chance I received. I don’t take arts in the form of competition but I
consider it as one of the sources of education (learning). I have a strong
belief that winning a competition is not a big issue but to increase awareness
among the people through art is a great thing.
In 2073/11/22, I was informed about the drawing competition
by my teacher which was organized by Spiny Babbler, Genius. I also participated
in the same drawing competition where I decided to draw a picture displaying Nepal’s cultures and traditions. As we can see
that 21st century people lack interest in the country’s customs and
traditions. Therefore, I decided to make them aware about the wars, violence of
the children’s right, child labor etc. with the help of my drawing skills.
In that competition, due to the lack of time I was only able to draw two pictures. It took me two days to complete my drawing. In the first picture, I drew about Nepalese cultures, traditions and cultural heritages. And in the second picture, I tried to portray the topic about Unity in Diversity in Nepal. While I was drawing those pictures, I felt very happy and proud at the same time. In the very beginning, I was thinking of drawing pictures related to wars and crimes prevailing in the country. But later I realized that if there is unity among the people in the society then it automatically minimizes the crime rates. I believe that if your drawing displays positive message to the society than it can be deliberated as a good drawing itself.

With the consideration of the present scenario, I strongly
feel that it is essential to alert people about the Unity in Diversity.
Therefore, with the help of my drawing skills I hope that I will be able to
make people realize about the importance of Unity.
