Genius Event 2017 : Message from J.B. Memorial English School

Organizers, First of all, we the members of J.B Memorial English School are thankful to the organizer for organizing such knowledgeable exhibition. Today all of us witnessed many artworks that gave us much knowledge about the present scenario of the country. All the arts make sense and inspire us to work to end the violence against the women existing in the country. This is the one of best way to express the talents of various schools students. It also helps to lead the children in the right path. Many students did great work in this event and make us to believe that they are the bright future of Nepal. Besides providing education to the children, we must also encourage them to involve in various extra curricular activities in order to enhance their knowledge. We hope that we will again get these kinds of opportunities from organizers.     Family of J.B Memorial English School

Genius Event 2017– Art about Violence Against Women

Image
This is our first art competition so far. We are very grateful towards Spiny Babbler who gave us an opportunity to participate in the event.   We used sketch pencil (6B) and wax color. To complete this art, it took us an hour of time. We drew different pictures based on different ideas and thoughts of the group. The topic in which we worked is Violence against women.   Nowadays People talk lots about the equality between men and women but hesitate to bring into practice.   Women are harassed and not treated well by their own families and societies. In the present context of Nepal, a lot of developmental works are happening with the advancement of technology but still in some part of Nepal people possess conservative beliefs and norms.   In the name of religion, different practices such as deuki pratha, chaupadi pratha, child marriages etc still prevail in Nepal. These kinds of traditions have done adverse effect on both health and mind of the women. ...

Genius Week 2017: Art work on The Cities and the Future of the Community.

We students of Shree Shanti Vidyashram Higher Secondary School would like to thank Genius week for organizing such program which has encouraged us in many ways. We learned lots about the teamwork and togetherness. Also this event helped us to boost up our self confidence. The main theme of our art was to give information about the present scenario of the cities and environment around us. We spent couple of hours for two days in order to complete our art. We wanted to deliver the message that if we want the development in the country then we should not wait for the right time but instead we should create one. We can see that there is no any proper management of infrastructures and places in Nepal. All the things are jumbled and twisted badly. Therefore, in order to convey the message to the people and the Nepal government we choose this art event as the mediator. We also believe that through our participation in art works, we are able to encourage other students like ...

Genius Event 2017: Art work of City and Community of Future

It took a day to complete our art. The materials we used are two chart papers, brush, poster color, etc. We completed the art with the help of our art teacher A.B. Shakya. Through our art, we were able to express our feelings, views, and information about the city and community of the future. After the devastating earthquake that occurred few years back, lots of destruction was taken place affecting the lives of people. Slowly and progressively, our country is moving towards development. If the developmental works are performed in this rate, then in the near future the society in which we are living right now will definitely face a good change. With the help of the art work, we want to demonstrate the same thing to the mass. This event has helped us in many ways. It has made easy for us to showcase our skills and abilities in front of other people. We were able to show our creativity and display social awareness message through the art work.   After the exhibition, ou...

Genius Event 2017: Equality and Human Rights

It took us nearly two days to complete our Art work. Thanks to our Art teacher, who inspired us to show our participation in this art event. We used two chart papers, paint and some stationary materials.   We would like to thank the event organizers Spiny Babbler to invite us in this program. In our drawing, we showed the feelings of equality and human rights.  Our topic was Equality and Human Rights. Human right is one of the basic needs required for the people. Right to freedom, right to education, right to health facilities etc are some of the major human rights. We can encounter many cases and people who do lack the basic human rights. People of rural areas still posses conservative beliefs such as differences between the cast system, gender inequality etc. They believe that girls are only for household chores and upbringing children. They aren’t given any opportunities regarding the education and employments. They are bound to marry at young age and look after t...

Genius Event 2017: Art work on Violence against Women

Image
When we were first told about this art exhibition, we got excited. The name of the organization ‘Spiny Babbler’ itself seems to be full of curiosity. We were happy for getting the opportunity to express our creativity at national level. We began our work on Monday and completed it on Tuesday. We put our hard efforts on this. We chose women violence as our theme for the art because women violence is one of the burning and pandemic issues in Nepal. Our art tries to show how women are victimized of violence and how they are facing the situation. Art is a medium through which we can express our feelings freely. Therefore, in order to express the feelings of women about how they are feeling and how they are living, we made this art. Through this art, we tried to convey the message that women aren’t meant to be born to be the victims of violence. Everyone has the right to live with dignity. We aren’t just trying to show the violence in women but also trying to articula...
